WELCOME to Trinity Presbyterian Church

Christian faith is in motion here at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Herndon, Virginia...from the quick pitter-patter of little feet to the deliberate steps seasoned with time.  There is a spirit of journey taking place, journey filled with promise.  Ours is a shared faith journey that is mapped with hope and paved with the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), we affirm the sovereignty of God over every facet of human life.  As disciples of Jesus Christ, we seek to equip ourselves in God's love and truth.  It is my privilege to welcome you to this household of faith.  As you visit with us, be assured that Jesus Christ meets you where you are, accepts you as you are, and desires to guide you into becoming what you were created to be.  I pray you will discover refreshment and renewal for your faith here at Trinity and that you might be led to join our fellowship and grow in your understanding of God and service to the Lord.

Faithfully, Stephen

New Pictorial Directory

We have contracted with Olan Mills to create a new pictorial directory of our congregation. Please plan to participate, as we are hoping to have all our families pictured in our new directory. Our photo dates are May 27-31. Weekday hours are 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm Saturday hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. You may make your appointment in person or online. Schedule sheets will be available beginning April 27 at the church. To sign up online go to www.signup.olanmills.com and use our phone number (703-437-5500) as your password.

When making your appointment, please select the earliest date and time that works for you. If you are available during weekday afternoons, please consider one of those appointment times.

Each family photographed will receive a free copy of the directory and an Olan Mills custom color 8 x 10 family portrait just for participating. There is no obligation to purchase portraits, although you certainly may if you wish. You will be photographed and see the proofs immediately thereafter. Please allow an hour for your appointment.

This is an important project that has value only if everyone participates. The directory will help you know other families in our congregation and will serve as an important picture historical document that you will treasure for years to come. Make your appointment today.

“Moments of Meaning”
A SPECIAL EVENT FOR TRINITY’S CHRISTIAN EDUCATION TEACHERS, LEADERS, AND ADVISORS

Reflect, Refresh, Rejoice! On Sunday, June 1, from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm in Rooms 11/13/15, the Christian Education Committee will host a special coffee chat event under the energetic leadership of Trinity’s pastors, Stephen Smith-Cobbs and Rebecca Messman. This event is designed to recognize the dedication of the many people that make Sunday school, adult Bible study groups, youth programs, and special educational events possible, by providing a “taste” of spiritual refreshment for our shared discipleship in Christ. Over coffee and tea and other goodies, Stephen and Becca will share “moments of meaning” that they have experienced as students and as teachers, which have warmed their hearts, provided energy for their faith, and given flavorful meaning to their spiritual lives. Many coffee choices will be provided, so participants are invited to bring a favorite coffee pot to share, if they wish. Look for your invitation in the mail to what promises to be a very special time of faith and fellowship—and food—after all, we’re Presbyterians!

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” - Philippians 4:4

Flavored coffees—lively chats—healthy snacks & sweet treats—spiritual respite & renewal

Reception for Pastor Becca and Dave!

A Congregational Reception was held on January 20, 2008, in the Fellowship Hall to celebrate our newly wedded Associate Pastor, Becca, and Dave Messman.  Click HERE to see more photos.

Sincere Thanks

A month of writing thank-you notes reminds me how dinky and insufficient a note seems compared to humbling and warm memories of opening a thoughtful and precious gift, hearing words of congratulations from smiling friends, and glowing at a reception when for a rare moment in time, all my loved ones are there, physically and spiritually.  This congregation over the past year has given our marriage gifts that will never be forgotten.  The reception held in the Fellowship Hall when we returned from our honeymoon, awkwardly tan and smiling from ear to ear, was wonderful!  The ladies luncheon back in October when I smiled and blushed opening your gifts and hearing your "sage" advice was such a blessing.  We try a new recipe, time-tested by your households, every week.  And, the way you have opened your arms to include Dave, a faithful 8:15 service man, is the greatest gift of all.  You even gave us a generous gift card that afforded us the ability to buy our flatware!  So, every night as we enjoy a meal together, you accompany us.  Thank you.
