The Property Committee manages yearly maintenance tasks such as the rotation of the HVAC system with the seasons, fire inspections, lawn service, snow removal, outside lighting and the the general cleaning contract. It also responds to daily maintenance requests: - checking on clogged facilities, replacing light bulbs and ballasts, broken door handles, and eliminating the occasional wild critter.The committee recruits volunteer handymen (and women) from the congregation to help with everyday repairs based on the skill level of the volunteer. It also organizes a few times a year Saturday indoor and outdoor clean-up days to make sure that a large number of small projects can be completed by a lot of hands. The inside days generally consist of detailed cleaning of the sanctuary, narthex windows, pers, lights and carpet. The outside work days are generally focused on grounds maintenance, such as tree triming, weeding, planting flowers, and spreading mulch. Groups and youth are needed to help on the clean up days.
