PASTOR

Stephen began serving as pastor of Trinity in 1997, having previously served two pastorates in his native Texas. He is a graduate of Austin College and Princeton Theological Seminary. Stephen has served as chair of our presbytery’s committee on ministry. He now serves as the vice-chair of the board of directors of Cornerstones. Listening to an eclectic variety of music and playing guitar bring him joy, along with reading and sharing coffee and conversation. He is an avid sports fan. Stephen and his wife of 42 years, Paula, met in college and have one adult son, Philip. Philip and his wife, Sara, live in Sterling, VA. ASSOCIATE PASTOR

MaryAnn McKibben Dana has been on staff at Trinity since fall of 2021. She previously served churches in Burke, VA and Falls Church, VA. For several years prior to Trinity, she worked “free-range” as a ministry coach, speaker, and writer. Her most recent books are Better Than Normal: Virtues for an Off-Script Life and Hope: A User’s Manual. Her writing has appeared in a wide variety of publications and in a weekly newsletter, and she was recognized by the Presbyterian Writers Guild with the 2015-2016 David Steele Distinguished Writer Award. MaryAnn is a graduate of Rice University in Houston, Texas and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. She is a mother of three young adults, an imperfect knitter, and an occasional ultramarathoner.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

A Virginia native, Renee moved to Herndon in 1992 and, with her husband, Bob, joined Trinity, where they became an ordained Deacon and Elder, respectively. They have two adult daughters, Allison and Erin, and all have enjoyed being a part of the Trinity family.

Renee is passionate about service. To Trinity, she brings her wealth of experience and leadership acumen from formerly working for the federal government and working for/volunteering with Fairfax County Public Schools and multiple nonprofits, including Girl Scouts, Herndon Village Network, and Food For Neighbors as the Director of Development. Through the years at Trinity, Renee has served in multiple ministries. She currently is an active member of the Service and Mission team and continues to volunteer with outside nonprofits.

NEXT GEN MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Maura returned to Trinity, her childhood church and core community growing up, after almost 15 years of living away from the area. Maura has a PhD in Classical Archaeology from the University of Cincinnati, where she focused on long distance maritime trade in the first millennia BCE, and specifically the circulation of painted pottery as a semi-luxury commodity. Maura enjoys playing pinball with her partner Jules, and working together with Jules on training their rather anxious pitbull, Lulu. Maura is especially excited about the community building aspects of this role, but she also derives satisfaction the organizational and administrative aspects of Next Gen Ministry. After benefiting greatly from Trinity’s nurturing environment growing up, Maura is happy to be in a position to now facilitate the operations of the Next Gen Ministries as they continue to educate and inspire young people.

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRIES

Chad has been involved in sacred music his entire life, serving numerous churches since his student days. He joined Trinity as Director of Music in September 2020.  He also currently serves as Director of Instrumental Music at Meridian High School in Falls Church City. Prior to that he was Music Director at St. Peters in the Woods Episcopal Church in Fairfax Station from 2010-2020, and a music teacher in the Fairfax City Public Schools from 2016-2025. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Southern Methodist University, a Master of Music degree from the Florida State University, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting  from George Mason University. Chad is retired from the United States Air Force where he was a percussionist and conductor in the Air Force Band program, including five years as the director of the U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants in Washington, D.C. He lives with his wife, Sheehan Connors-Steffey, in Fairfax, Virginia.

DIRECTOR OF TRINITY RINGERS

Tracey has directed the handbell program at Trinity since the fall of 1998. She has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Saskatchewan specializing in the Arts and has worked with premier handbell directors and composers at the advanced level as a participant as well as a director. She has rung, directed or acted as a workshop facilitator in Australia, Great Britain, and Canada as well as directed handbell choirs in Arizona, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Prior to working at Trinity, Tracey was the Arts Education Consultant for the Saskatoon Public School Division in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, where she also worked as a middle school band director, and an elementary school music, drama and dance teacher.

ORGANIST/PIANIST/ ACCOMPANIST

Angie began playing piano and organ at Trinity in December 2016. She has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from JMU. Previously, she was the music director at Bethel UCC. Angie particularly enjoys setting a musical scene for worship through instrumental music during services.

Angie’s private piano studio focuses on creative, mindful, lifelong music-making and incorporates elements of yoga, meditation, and tai chi. Angie loves taking care of her cats and chickens, gardening, cooking, knitting, and reading.

LEAD NURSERY WORKER

Caroline is a 2025 graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur GA with a BA in Psychology. She has worked with children in a variety of capacities since 2022, including as a counselor for Headfirst and for Mudskippers Pottery Summer Camps. She also served as Mudskippers’ Director of Camp Operations for two years. During the week she works as Studio Manager for Mudskippers and is planning to pursue a masters degree in teaching. As Trinity’s Lead Nursery Worker, Caroline coordinates a staff of four trained and background-checked workers and a team of substitutes to ensure adequate care for the youngest members of the Trinity family.
