Together, We Make a Difference!

Our dynamic service and mission efforts emphasize sharing our time, talent, and treasure to care for God’s creation and our neighbors, whether they’re right here in our community or elsewhere in the world. Trinity members engage in a wide variety of hands-on opportunities for all ages! These opportunities include several in-house programs as well as nonprofits that we helped to found or grow and continue to support in a number of ways. You’ll find Trinity staff and members leading and volunteering with local organizations, serving on nonprofit boards, and joining forces with our interfaith community. Trinity is a tithing congregation, donating 10% of its income to a wide variety of local, national, and international causes.

Our church building is often abuzz with activity, and we invite you to join us! Together, we can transcend the barriers of neighborhood, race, and class to bring about a just world where all are loved and valued.

Herndon Elementary School Partnership Program
Through our long-term partnership, we provide a wide range of support such as offering instruction assistance in classrooms, preparing and delivering weekend food packs for students, helping in the library, providing and/or sorting school supplies and backup clothing, catering staff appreciation meals, and volunteering for special events such as book fairs, science nights, career days, field days, and more!
Lunch for the Soul
A program that we founded many years ago, Lunch for the Soul has grown to include five congregations that work together to offer a Spanish worship service with a home-cooked meal for our Herndon area day laborer community.

We helped to found this local food pantry many years ago and continue to serve on the Board, donate food, host large produce distributions, and provide volunteers to sort, distribute, and deliver food to our neighbors throughout the year.

The Closet of the Greater Herndon Area
We also helped to found and continue to provide volunteer support to this local thrift shop, which offers affordable clothing and other household items and donates proceeds for scholarships and grants supporting the community.

We have members actively serving on the Board and volunteering with this nonprofit, which provides services to Herndon area senior citizens, especially transportation, so that Herndon residents can age in place and remain connected with the community they know and love.

Food For Neighbors
We began supporting Food For Neighbors soon after its founding, and our volunteers have helped to lead and grow the nonprofit, which initially offered supplemental food for students at Herndon Middle School and Herndon High School and now partners with 60 middle and high schools in Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudoun counties to provide students with supplemental food, toiletries, and/or grocery gift cards.

We also pick up and deliver to our Herndon Elementary School partner supplemental food packs created through the Food For Others’ Power Pack Program, which mostly serves elementary school students in Fairfax County.

Cornerstones
By serving on the Cornerstones Board, we help fulfill the nonprofit’s mission to provide community members in need with a number of wrap-around services, such as food and housing.

Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement (VOICE)
Through our active membership and, oftentimes, leadership of VOICE, we work with faith communities throughout Northern Virginia to identify and advocate for social justice issues, like affordable housing and increased mental health resources.

Founded in 1994, Boy Scout Troop #1577 is open to all boys ages 10 to 18 and prides itself on being Scout-run, outing-focused, and skills-oriented.
